We believe that doing things properly applies to more than just what goes inside the jar, but what's on the outside too.

Over the last year, we made a deliberate decision to change our labels — moving from silver polypropylene to FSC-certified paper, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and produced by Root Labels.

This wasn’t a cosmetic update. It was considered an investment.

Our previous labels were plastic-based. They were durable and widely used in food manufacturing, but they don’t fully align with the direction we want the business to continue moving in. FSC certification ensures the paper comes from responsibly managed forests, with traceability and strict environmental and social standards throughout the supply chain.

When you produce thousands of jars, small decisions scale quickly...

In the 12 months since making the switch... 4,500 square metres of plastic have been saved.

That’s roughly the size of a full football pitch.

A Premium Choice

FSC-certified paper labels cost more than standard plastic alternatives.

We chose them anyway.

Because for us, premium isn’t just about high fruit content and traditional open-pan cooking. It’s also about:

• Responsible sourcing

• Thoughtful materials

• Long-term sustainability over short-term savings

As a SALSA-certified producer working towards B Corp standards, we regularly review every part of our process. This label change is part of our wider commitment. 

In a competitive market, it would have been easy to stick with the cheaper option. But investing in better materials strengthens what makes us different.

It is another quiet detail that sets our products apart not just in taste but in principle too.
