Strawberry French Toast with Brioche

This Strawberry French Toast is a simple yet indulgent breakfast or brunch recipe, perfect for slow weekends or special occasions.

Made with rich brioche, a lightly sweetened custard soak, and Boddington's Strawberry Conserve.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Boddington’s Strawberry Conserve
  • 2 slices brioche
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g custard
  • Optional: fresh fruit, extra jam, Cornish clotted cream, cinnamon, icing suga

Method

  1. In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs and whisk together with the caster sugar and custard until smooth.
  2. Dip the brioche slices into the custard mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.
  3. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and cook the brioche for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and lightly crisp.
  4. Serve warm with strawberry conserve, clotted cream, and fresh fruit. Add a dusting of icing sugar or a pinch of cinnamon if desired.
